Call of Duty: Ghosts will be available on November 5, 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U before heading to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One once those consoles are released on November 15 and November 22, respectively.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is the tenth instalment in the highly successful franchise and is the sixth developed by Infinity Ward. The new Ghosts series will debut a new next-generation engine and viewing the single player campaign trailer proves that the Call of Duty franchise is certainly reaching new heights. Let’s just hope the game plays as well as it looks, because it’s stunning.

Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD is Now Official

Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation was originally released for the PlayStation Vita on October 30, 2012 in North America and will now be heading to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in full high-def glory. The release will be available as a digital download only, sometime in early 2014 Ubisoft has revealed.

Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD won’t just be a simple HD remake however. The team has revamped the title with improved gameplay, a deeper story, new combat, and each mission has been reworked to provide better pacing and challenge for players. In other words, even if you’ve played through the game on the PlayStation Vita, Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD will still have plenty for you to enjoy.

Child of Light is an RPG Inspired by Fairy Tales

Originally teased at GDC Europe last month, Ubisoft Montreal has released an official announcement trailer for Child of Light.

The project is led by Far Cry 3′s creative director, Patrick Plourde, and will be heading to the Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. According to Ubisoft Montreal, Child of Light will focus on Aurora, a young princess who is whisked away to the kingdom of Lemuria. Unfortunately for Aurora, she discovers that the inhabitants of the kingdom have all turned into crows. Along with a mystical blue orb companion named Igniculus, Aurora embarks on a journey to discover what has caused Lemuria’s plight.

Child of Light will feature turn-based battles and a skill tree closely resembling the one seen in Far Cry 3. Igniculus can also be controlled by a second player, making Child of Light somewhat unique as a cooperative RPG. Both characters feature different play styles, with Aurora attacking and defending with her sword and magic, while Igniculus uses a light source to heal and blind enemies. The turn-based battles will be familiar to Final Fantasy players as it will feature an “Active Time Battle System Meter” that indicates when it’s each character’s turn to move in battle.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War Revealed by Ubisoft

Ubisoft has announced Valiant Hearts: The Great War, a 2D platformer created by the studio behind Rayman Legends, Ubisoft Montpellier. The game is set to be released in 2014 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. Valiant Hearts: The Great War tells the story of five individuals with crossed destinies during World War I. All five characters in the game wil “try to survive the horror of the trenches following their faithful canine companion,” Ubisoft described.

The game will be a blend of platforming and environmental puzzle solving and will use a picture-in-picture comic book presentation to tell the story. The game will be available as a digital download when it’s released.

Assassin’s Creed Pirates Heading to iOS and Android This Fall

Ubisoft has announced Assassin’s Creed Pirates, a mobile gaming heading to iOS and Android devices this fall. The standalone game will be designed to work on smartphones and tablets and will allow gamers to further explore the Caribbean during the Golden Age of piracy as Alonzo Batilia, a young and ambitious captain. Players will be able to manage their crew, upgrade their ship, and engage in huge naval battles in hopes of becoming the most feared pirate of all time.

Obviously Assassin’s Creed Pirates plays in with the upcoming Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag that will be released on October 29, 2013 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. Though the games will share the same world, the storylines will not be linked.

Battlefield 4 PC Requirements Announced

DICE has announced the Battlefield 4 PC requirements which seem to be on par for a current-generation, first-person shooter. The minimum requirements include Windows Vista 32-bit as your operating system, an AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHz processor or an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz prcessor, 4 GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon HD 3870 or a Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT video card with at least 512 MB of memory, and a 30 GB hard drive.

Recommended specs include an AMD six-core or Intel quad-core processor, 8 GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon HD 870 or Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 video card with at least 3 GB of memory, and a 30 GB hard drive. Interestingly enough, DICE recommends to run Windows 8 64-bit for the game.

Battlefield 4 will be released for the PC on October 29, 2013. It will also be available on the Sony PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

Sony has announced the pre-order bonuses for inFAMOUS Second Son, which will be released for the Sony PlayStation 4 early next year. The latest trailer for inFAMOUS Second Son teased a brand new power for Delsin along with a new character named Fetch that will make an appearance in the game.

Though Sucker Punch hasn’t announced an official release date for inFAMOUS Second Son, the company has revealed the pre-order bonuses for the game which include exclusive vests for Delsin. The four vests were each designed by Penny Arcade, iam8bit, San Diego street artist Exist 1981, and artista y disenadora Jos. The entire set will be exclusively available with a pre order of inFAMOUS Second Son.

Galaga Legions DX Joining PS Plus Instant Game Collection

Sony has announced updates heading to the PlayStation store tomorrow, September 10. Galaga Legions DX will be added to the Instant Game Collection, so PlayStation 3 owners will be able to enjoy the legendary hit arcade shooter for free. In addition, there will be several games on sale including the Call of Duty franchise for PlayStation 3.

Dragon Fantasy Book II for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita will be $11.99 for PS Plus members, $3.00 off the regular price. The discounts on the Call of Duty games range anywhere from $5.00 to $12.30. The latest in the Call of Duty franchise, Black Ops II will have a bundle which includes a Season Pass for $84.59, normally $93.99.

Fans of the Aliens: Colonial Marines series on the PlayStation 3 can also enjoy some discounts on those games.

As for the PlayStation Vita, Doodle God will be discounted from $5.99 to $4.49 for PS Plus members.

Tomorrow, World of Warcraft will receive Patch 5.4: Siege of Orgrimmar. To give a sneak preview of all the new features being added to Blizzard’s MMORPG, the company has released a preview video which you can watch below.

The patch is loaded with tons of new content and features, the largest yet since the latest expansion Mists of Pandaria was released. Players will be able to test their might in the new Proving Grounds where they’ll be able to choose the role of tank, DPS, or healer and take on a series of challenges based on the kinds of combat mechanics that particular role would encounter in a dungeon. Four modes will be available in the Proving Grounds: Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Endless and you’ll have to beat each one before moving onto the next.

Patch 5.4 Siege of Orgrimmar will also introduce the new Flexible Raid feature that will reward Item Level loot that falls in between Raid Finder and Normal quality and will use the Raid Finder’s per person loot system. The new Flexible Raid system will allow players to take on any raid with any number of people between 10-25 and the difficulty will scale based on how many people are participating. Unlike the Raid Finder however, you won’t be able to queue up for the Flexible Raid which means no Item Level requirement.

In addition, players will be able to explore the new land of The Timeless Isle which boasts an open-world experience. That is, there will be a couple of quests for you to pick up but they won’t tell you exactly where to go, or what to do. Instead, you’ll have to explore on your own to discover what The Timeless Isle has in store. Everything on the island will drop something unique including Timeless Coins, which players can use to purchase Mogu Runes of Fate, additional BoA gear, pets, mounts, and some just-for-fun items.

Pet collectors and battlers will also get The Celestial Tournament feature, which adds new Celestial Pets to the game.

Sony PlayStation Vita TV Announced

At the Sony PlayStation Japan press conference this evening, Andrew House took the stage to announce the Sony PlayStation Vita TV.

Adopting the Sony PlayStation Vita hardware, the PlayStation Vita TV is a tiny device that can connect to a television and allow it to do nearly everything you’d expect a Vita to do. That includes video and network service, cross play, and streaming PlayStation 4 games to other televisions in your household. The PS Vita TV will also be compatible with the Sony DualShock 3 controller, allowing you to play PS Vita games on your big screen while using a PS3 controller. In addition, it will also be able to stream handheld games to your television, such as PSP and original PlayStation titles.

It will be available in Japan starting November 14, 2013 at 9,480 yen. A bundle was also announced that comes with a DualShock 3 controller and 8 GB Vita memory card for 14,280 yen. Unfortunately, no information on a U.S. release was announced, though this could be Sony’s answer to Apple TV while delivering classic PlayStation games to your television.

The Sony Japan PlayStation press conference will be held on September 7, 2013 at 11:00 PM PDT and you can watch a live stream of the event below.

It is expected that Sony will announce its release plans for the PlayStation 4 console in its home country, along with more information on launch titles and perhaps some unannounced games. Hopefully, Sony’s publishing partners in Japan will reveal more information on what they have in store for the next-generation console. Of course it would be most ideal if Square Enix revealed more info on Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV, but the company could be saving that for the Tokyo Game Show.
