After breaking the $1-million mark rather quickly, the Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter is looking beyond just development for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. Originally, the team at Comcept didn’t have plans for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One development due to its inexperience with the next-generation platforms, but as they say, with the right amount of money anything can happen.

So now there is a $3.3-million stretch goal added to the Kickstarter that will add PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions to Mighty No. 9 to Comcept’s lengthy to-do list. When the Kickstarter project was originally announced, Mighty No. 9 had an estimated release date of Spring 2015 for the PC. Due to overwhelming demand on the project page, the former Mega Man developers decided to move the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U versions goal to $2.2 million, which the project will surely hit considering it’s close to the $2-million mark with 22 days left.

As of now, Mighty No. 9 will be seeing two additional stages, Mac and Linux versions, and a new game plus and turbo mode added to the game. The company will also be releasing a making-of documentary. It’s very likely that the $2-million goal will be hit within the next couple of days, which will add a Boss Rush Mode to the game. After that it’ll be the current-generation console stretch goal with some random bonuses sprinkled in between.

Considering the title isn’t being released until 2015, it would be smart for Comcept to also develop for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. By then, the systems will have gained traction in the market.

The PlayStation 4 will be released in North America on November 15, 2013 while the Xbox One will come a week later on November 22, 2013.
