Some former World of Warcraft subscribers are reporting that Blizzard has sent them a physical copy of WoW‘s latest expansion, Mists of Pandaria, for free. There’s no real logic as to who has been receiving these copies, but there’s enough reports from Reddit users to believe that Blizzard is reaching out to former World of Warcraft’s subscribers in hopes to entice them back to the world of Azeroth.
The campaign coincides with the recent launch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and recent reports that World of Warcraft’s subscription numbers continue to drop. Then again, Blizzard could also be getting ready to announce the next expansion in the game’s series which has been rumored to be titled The Dark Below.
So if you were a former World of Warcraft player and stopped after Cataclysm, you might want to check your mailbox to see if a copy of Mists of Pandaria has shown up.
