FFXIV: ARR PS3 Players to Get Access to PS4 Version for Free in Japan

Sony announced that current PlayStation 3 players of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will get beta access to the PlayStation 4 version free of charge, at least in Japan. Sony also announced that by the time the PlayStation 4 launches in Japan on February 22, 2014, the beta test for the PlayStation 4 version of FFXIV: ARR will be underway.

We reached out to Square Enix for clarification to see if the full copy of the game will be available on the PS4 for free, or just access to the beta test for current PS3 players.

Updated: Square Enix has confirmed that owners of the PlayStation 3 copy will be upgraded to the PlayStation 4 version for free.
