XBOX Game Pass October 2026 Wave 1 Lineup

Gears of War: E-Day arrived on October 6 as the final day one release of the second September wave, and the first XBOX Game Pass wave of October keeps the day one launches coming. Seven of its nine additions arrive on day one between October 8 and October 16, including Valor Mortis and Echo Weaver, while Battlefield 6 joins for XBOX Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers on October 13. Nine games are also leaving the library on October 15, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Three games arrive on October 8, starting with day one release Echo Weaver on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC for XBOX Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. It’s a knowledge-based metroidvania built around an unraveling time loop, where secrets are your only upgrades and you play as the last Weaver, exploiting time-altering anomalies to eventually break the cycle. Forever Ago also arrives day one on Cloud, Console, and PC for the same two tiers, a single-player road trip adventure that follows Alfred north in search of redemption after a tragic turn of events. Along the way, you’ll capture memories with your camera, meet interesting characters, and maybe make a few friends.

Rounding out October 8 is Neon Abyss 2 on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC for XBOX Game Pass Ultimate, XBOX Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass subscribers. The roguelike action platformer puts you in a pixelated cyberpunk world ruled by ancient and modern gods, where you’re struck down in New Athens and battle through The Abyss for revenge, with every defeat pushing you into one more run.

The following Tuesday, October 13, adds three more games, beginning with Battlefield 6 on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC for XBOX Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. The shooter launched last October and sold over seven million copies in its first three days, the biggest opening in the franchise’s history. EA Play members can unlock the EA Play Deployment Pack, claim the Season 5 EA Play Pack, and earn recurring seasonal rewards, and since EA Play is included with XBOX Game Pass Ultimate, those subscribers also get 10 percent off eligible EA digital purchases.

Joining Battlefield 6 on October 13 are two day one releases, starting with Deep Dish Dungeon on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC for Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. It’s a survival exploration game set in a puzzly, hand-crafted dungeon with metroidvania and crafting elements, playable solo or in online co-op. The other is Valor Mortis, one of our top games to play in October, on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, and PC for the same tiers. The first-person action soulslike from the creators of Ghostrunner casts you as a former soldier of Napoleon’s army who rises from death with supernatural powers, battling horrifying monsters while unraveling a conspiracy that threatens humanity. It was originally set for September before moving to October 13 to get out of a crowded month.

October 15 brings two more day one releases, starting with Bluey’s Happy Snaps on Cloud, Console, Handheld, and PC for XBOX Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. The photo-powered adventure lets you explore familiar spots from the show with Bluey and Bingo, snapping memories and discovering Australian wildlife solo or side-by-side with a second player. On the opposite end of the spectrum is Chained Beasts on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC, a co-op gladiator roguelike for one to four players where you fight while chained to your friends. You can use the chains or the arena itself to beat up enemies in creative ways and win over the bloodthirsty crowd, all while enduring physical and mental injuries on the way to fearsome bosses.

The wave’s final addition is Beyond These Stars on October 16, a day one release on PC for XBOX Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. You build a city on the back of a Space Whale as it journeys through the stars, managing intricate supply chains and the needs of your people while setting up outposts, meeting aliens, and uncovering the mysteries of the universe. It’s also the only game in this wave that’s limited to PC.

For those catching up, Minecraft Dungeons II and Gears of War: E-Day are both available now for XBOX Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers after arriving day one in the second September wave. Shape of Dreams is also available now on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, and PC for Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass subscribers, and its Starless Path anniversary update adds more content to the fast-paced top-down roguelite, which supports solo play or co-op with up to three friends. On the perks side, Asphalt Legends players across every XBOX Game Pass tier, including Essential, can unlock the Ford GT MKII, 250 tokens, and 250,000 credits starting today.

Nine games are leaving the XBOX Game Pass library on October 15, and XBOX Game Pass members can save 20 percent on them before they go.

A Plague Tale: Requiem (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Crime Scene Cleaner (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Donut County (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Evil West (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Nova Roma (Game Preview) (PC)
Pacific Drive (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Superball (Cloud, Console, and PC)
The Casting of Frank Stone (Cloud, Console, and PC)

The biggest name on the way out is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which joined XBOX Game Pass as a day one release in April 2025 and went on to win Game of the Year. When it debuted at the XBOX Games Showcase in 2024, I called it the most exciting game of the show, and my review is there if you want a refresher before it leaves. A Plague Tale: Requiem is also on its way out, less than two months after Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy joined XBOX Game Pass day one.

Multiplatform subscribers can also check out the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for October 2026.
