XBOX Game Pass August 2026 Wave 2 Lineup

XBOX has detailed the Game Pass August 2026 Wave 2 lineup, and after a first half built around Beast of Reincarnation’s day one launch and the Gears of War: E-Day open beta, the back half of the month answers with 10 additions through September 1. Three of those are day one releases. The headliner is Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, which locked in its August 27 date back in June during the summer showcase season.

Available today, August 18, is Egging On for Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, and PC, now with Game Pass Premium and joining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This one was already mentioned in the wave 1 lineup, and it’s a platformer about surviving as a real, fragile egg, escaping a henhouse and working through a farm shop, a factory, and other environments that are decidedly unfriendly to eggs.

Tomorrow, August 19, brings three titles at once. The first day one release of the wave is Vapor World: Over the Mind (Game Preview) on Cloud, Console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, a narrative-driven soulslike platformer built around deflection combat, where a boy descends into a shattered mind in search of lost memories. Joining it is BlazBlue Entropy Effect X on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC, now with Game Pass Premium alongside Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. It’s a roguelite action game set in the BlazBlue universe, and Platinum joins the roster in a free content update that’s already live on XBOX Series X|S. Rounding out the day is Relooted, also now with Game Pass Premium and joining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC. The Africanfuturist heist game has players reclaiming real African artifacts from western museums, recruiting crew members, planning escape routes, and getting out fast.

Starsand Island follows on August 20 on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC, now with Game Pass Premium and joining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The cozy island life sim added four-player co-op when it hit 1.0, and it’s built around slow days of fishing, exploring the Moonlit Forest, and bonding with capybaras, cats, and dogs.

August 25 delivers a double feature. Aerial_Knight’s DropShot arrives on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, and PC, now with Game Pass Premium and joining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. It’s a high-speed FPS racer starring Smoke Wallace, who was bitten by a radioactive dragon as a kid, which turned his skin purple and gave him the ability to fire bullets from his fingertips. The same day brings the wave’s second day one release with Blood Dungeon on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. It comes from the creators of Nidhogg and mixes 2D platforming survival with parkour, kiting monsters, and gathering blood and powerups, with bones earned from each run spent at the Bone Shop on upgrades, arenas, and skins.

The biggest addition of the wave lands on August 27 with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, a day one release on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. The game follows Sophia’s journey to the Minotaur’s Island, where she faces deadly trials, solves puzzles, and stays one step ahead of the army chasing her while something far worse waits behind the myth.

Closing out the month on August 31 is Young Suns on Cloud, Console, and PC, now with Game Pass Premium and joining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Launching as a 1.0 full release, it’s a narrative life sim set after a successful revolution on Jupiter, playable solo or with a crew of up to three friends. Then on September 1, Shelldiver joins on Cloud, Console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass subscribers. It’s an incremental game about a turtle fishing jellyfish and selling them at their little shop, upgrading equipment and exploring deeper biomes along the way, presumably between naps.

If you missed it, Wolfenstein 3D also expanded to XBOX Series X|S and Cloud on August 12 for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, bringing the 1992 classic to modern hardware. On the perks side, Once Human gets a console-exclusive avatar, a monthly Meta Pass, and daily treasure chests for all tiers starting August 25, while a World of Tanks Modern Armor XP Stock Bundle arrives September 1.

As for what’s on the way out, five titles are leaving the Game Pass library on August 31: Another Crab’s Treasure, I Am Your Beast, Neon Abyss, One Lonely Outpost, and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Remastered Edition. NBA 2K26 follows on September 6. Members can save up to 20 percent on these before they go.
