Starting October 6, PlayStation Plus members have three new Monthly Games to add to their libraries, one fewer than September’s lineup, and all three stay available until November 2. Sony also announced a handful of PlayStation Plus exclusive HorrorFest packs for the Halloween season, and one of them is tied to a game in this month’s lineup.
First up is F1 25 on PlayStation 5, Codemasters’ official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship. It launched on May 30, 2025, and brought back Braking Point for a third chapter, with the story mode once again following the fictional Konnersport team. Career and My Team 2.0 cover the rest of the single-player side, with My Team putting you in charge as the owner of a Formula 1 team. Online, F1 World adds a new mode where you and your friends race as a squad against AI drivers. F1 25 was also nominated for Best Sports / Racing Game at The Game Awards 2025, though the award went to Mario Kart World.
For something darker, there’s Hunt: Showdown 1896 on PlayStation 5, Crytek’s horror-themed extraction shooter that pits you against both monsters and other players. You race rival Hunters to track down bosses, send them back to hell, claim their bounty, and fight your way out, either alone or with up to two teammates. It launched on August 15, 2024, for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC as the new version of Hunt: Showdown, and the original stopped being playable on PlayStation 4 and XBOX One that same day. On PC, it made both the Top Sellers and Most Played lists in Steam’s Best of 2024, clearing 50,000 peak players that year.
Lastly, there’s Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, the only game in this month’s lineup that also runs on PlayStation 4. The voxel spinoff from Yuke’s and D3 Publisher launched worldwide on September 26, 2024, and picks up on a square Earth after the events of the first World Brothers. You build a team of four from the soldiers you’ve rescued, drawing from both the mainline series and its spinoffs, including characters from Earth Defense Force 6, which joined the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in August 2025. It supports four-player online co-op and two-player local split-screen on both consoles.
As for the HorrorFest packs, there’s a Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle on October 1, a Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack on October 6, and an Overwatch Dragur Reinhardt pack with five tier skips on October 7. You’ll need to own the base game to use any of them, though. Members can also claim limited-edition Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars on Sony Pictures Core at no extra cost from October 6, the day it arrives on the service, until October 20.
As a reminder, you have until October 5 to add September’s PlayStation Plus Monthly Games (Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes) to your library before they’re gone.
