Evil Empire held its first-ever fall Triple-i Initiative showcase today, packing 40 games into 40 minutes with no ads or hosts, just like April’s show. This one also included more new demos and playtests than any previous Triple-i showcase, and many of them are available to play right now through the Triple-i Initiative sale on Steam. I’ve called the Triple-i one of the best indie showcases on the gaming calendar, and if you missed it, you can watch the full show on YouTube.
Here’s a roundup of everything that was announced at today’s showcase, in alphabetical order, along with each game’s trailer.
Norsfell, the studio behind Tribes of Midgard, revealed Aftergods, a top-down survivalite ARPG where you play as a god who survived Ragnarök and must form a new pantheon to restore the fallen Seeds of the World Tree. Players can recruit followers, build temples, and battle giant monsters solo or with friends across a handcrafted open world. The reveal trailer features a score performed by a live orchestra of over 60 musicians and an animated sequence from the team behind the Blood of Zeus and Castlevania series. Innersloth’s standalone detective game Among Us Story: On Guard now has a release date of February 17, 2027, on Switch, Switch 2, mobile, and PC via Steam. The spin-off goes single-player, tasking you with proving your own innocence and catching the Impostor before they get to the rest of the crew, and you. Watch the trailer.

Hibernian Workshop’s platformer roguelite Astral Ascent is home to the first-ever crossover for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with the free Expedition 33 For Those Who Come After update, which is available now. The update brings in Clair Obscur’s main cast and bosses like Mimes and Pétank, along with six new summons, three bosses, two music tracks, and three new rooms, and yes, you can hug the Esquie. It’s available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC via Steam, Humble, the Epic Games Store, and GOG. Watch the trailer.
The Primal Dread DLC for Brotato, which was slated for summer 2026 when it was revealed in April, now launches on November 2 for PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG. The DLC from Blobfish Games and Evil Empire has players fighting dinosaurs with new brotatoes, weapons, and items, and it’s coming in early 2027 to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, Android, and iOS. From RedRuins Softworks, the creators of Breathedge, Canyons is a co-op PvE shooter for up to four players that’s set to launch in November 2027 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players face supernatural creatures called the Awakened, forge Blood Pacts to wield their abilities, explore hostile canyons aboard colossal Crawlers, and build up a settlement while making hard calls to keep their crew alive. Anegar Games and publisher Secret Mode are adding the first official new map to co-op game Chained Together on November 12. A brief teaser shows desks, chairs, and PC monitors, but the rest of the map will stay under wraps until then. Watch the trailer.

Hardcore survival game Dandelion Void shadow-dropped its first public demo on Steam today, along with news that U.K. publisher Kwalee is on board. The single-player demo has players exploring the jungle-choked halls of the generation ship Pergola, building a refuge and scavenging resources from the remains of their dead ancestors. Developer Manzanita Interactive is a worker co-op co-founded by Brian Ostrander, creator of the Save Our Station! mod for Project Zomboid, and the game enters Early Access on Steam in 2027. Mintrocket revealed a free crossover DLC for Dave the Diver with Subnautica 2, which brings alien oceans into Dave’s Blue Hole in early 2027. It’s the game’s final DLC, and it’s coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Dave the Diver has sold over 10 million copies since entering Early Access in October 2022. Watch the trailer.
From the developers of Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis, Drunken Goddess Reflux is a game of shot glass Russian roulette against Femme Soule, a demon who loves you enough to kill you. A Steam demo arrives on October 19, with the full release planned for December 8. Watch the trailer.
Co-op horror game Escape the Backrooms has passed 10 million players, and its After Party update will add new skins this month, followed by new levels in December. Developed by Fancy Games and Blackbird Interactive and published by Secret Mode, it’s available on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Watch the trailer.

Retromagine’s False Echo is a narrative cryptography thriller set aboard a secret military submarine, where players decode intercepted messages and every decision can carry deadly consequences. A demo is available now on Steam, with the full game launching in spring 2027. Watch the trailer.
Strange Scaffold, the studio behind I Am Your Beast and Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator, announced Gods with Badges, a narrative tactics game that examines the power dynamics and institutional incentives of law enforcement. Players patrol a dystopian city of the future as Harrow McClellan, a disgraced police officer transferred back to her original post, and turning off her bodycam unlocks special dialogue and combat options in its turn-based battles. LazyFlock’s cozy, spooky co-op adventure Haunted Paws is coming to PlayStation, XBOX, Switch, and Switch 2, and a free demo is available now on Steam. Players create their own puppies and work together to solve puzzles and face strange monsters in a haunted mansion while trying to rescue their missing owner. Watch the trailer.
The first demo for Hela: of Mice & Magic is now available on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store, ahead of the full game’s December 1 launch on PC and consoles. Developed by Windup Games and published by Knights Peak, it’s an open-world adventure about the Kind Witch’s tiny mouse familiars and small acts of kindness, set in the Swedish wilderness. Goblincore survival-crafter Isle Goblin, where you play as goblins defending your home from humans, opened its first public playtest on Steam today with over 27,000 players already signed up. Developer Watt, an electrical engineer by day, built the game solo over four years while documenting it for more than 100,000 YouTube subscribers. It’s now backed by Fireshine Games, the publisher of Core Keeper and Far Far West, along with Pocketpair Publishing, the studio behind Palworld. Watch the trailer.
Developer 12AM BLACKOUT revealed JIAOHUN, a cinematic first-person psychological horror game set in a small Chinese town in the 1990s, where you play as a returning wanderer tracking down his scattered soul and the mystery behind the town’s downfall. It’s scheduled for 2027 on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Watch the trailer.
Raw Fury revealed Pharaoh Lands, a new DLC for side-scrolling micro-strategy game Kingdom Two Crowns set in an ancient Egypt-inspired world of vast deserts, towering pyramids, and powerful gods. Players will solve riddles, claim ancient artifacts, and face new threats after nightfall while rebuilding their kingdom, and it launches later this year on PlayStation 4, XBOX One, Switch, Android, iOS, and PC via Steam and GOG. Made in collaboration with Damien Monnier, the designer behind the original Gwent and Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, Lazare’s Sacrifice is a narrative deckbuilder set at the height of the French Revolution. Every night brings a new opponent, and players can sacrifice cards, slots, and even their own life to survive until dawn while uncovering the truth behind their imprisonment. Developed by Dream Reality Interactive and published by Curve Games, it comes to Steam in spring 2027. Watch the trailer.

Team17 and developer Saltitude revealed Little Prince Tyger, a bloody 2D action roguelike with more than 1,000 single-screen levels featuring physics-simulated environments and enemies. A Steam playtest is live now through October 18. Watch the trailer.
From DEVOUR creator Joe Fender, Living Hell is a co-op survival horror game for up to four players set in Pelican City, where the collapse of the ozone layer has triggered terrifying mutations. Players capture mutated specimens and turn them into biofuel to power a train, their last chance to reach one of the remaining rockets off Earth, choosing from six characters and facing more than 12 mutated creatures. The first playtest is live now on Steam, with the full game launching in summer 2027. Watch the trailer.
Amanita Design revealed Machinarium 2, the sequel to its 2009 adventure game, which reunites Josef and Berta as they discover a hidden valley settled by two robot tribes running short on power. Players can switch between both heroes freely to solve puzzles neither could crack alone, Tomáš Dvořák (Floex) returns to compose the score, and the game is available to wishlist on Steam now. The game with a colossal policeman watching over you, Militsioner, is playable for the first time since its 2020 reveal, with a demo available now on Steam. The demo covers the first act, where players meet the town’s NPCs and try to escape by riding the funicular, and the full game from TALLBOYS and Critical Reflex is coming to XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Nine Dots Studio’s Outward 2, which delayed its Early Access launch to 2027 in June, will now enter Early Access on February 8, 2027, on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG. The action-survival RPG sequel promises no hand-holding, with only the well-prepared surviving its journey. Watch the trailer.
The next game from Inscryption creator Daniel Mullins, Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, launches on April 27, 2027, on Steam, and players can sign up for its Steam playtest now. As its own description puts it, this is not a game about ponies, and the original Pony Island is free on Steam for a limited time. Watch the trailer.
Glass Head Dolls’ Prison of Husks is a Soulslike set in a painted afterlife, where you awaken as a doll searching for your beloved, and it launches on January 27, 2027, on PlayStation 5 and PC. Players can tune their builds with everything from parries to pistols while exploring interconnected levels and fighting pigment-hoarding bosses, and an updated demo is available now on Steam. Off-road trucking meets horror in Prospice: Anomalous Logistics, where players deliver cursed cargo across an island of rotten gods and leave their truck behind to uncover occult artifacts. A demo is out now on Steam, and the game from Code Wakers and Forklift Interactive launches in 2027 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Watch the trailer.

From Digital Sun, the creators of Moonlighter and Cataclismo, ReVamp is a tower defense Metroidvania where you rule as Dracula, building your fortress room by room and commanding an army of monsters against mortal invaders. It launches on March 25, 2027, and its first Steam playtest is available now. Watch the trailer.
Hallowed Concepts, the fourth DLC expansion for Risk of Rain 2, was first revealed in April and shadow-dropped today on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It takes players deeper into the cult-like world of N’Kuhana with new regions of Petrichor V, new bosses, trials, and challenges, along with spells to cast, hexes to endure, and N’Tormat pages to collect. Rock-and-roll management RPG ROCKBEASTS has players guiding a 90s grunge band from garage obscurity to stadium glory in an alternate America full of anthropomorphic characters, and its first public demo is available now. Developer LICHTHUND also announced a partnership with Critical Role, with Matthew Mercer and Sam Riegel as the first cast members, and a launch window of around January 2027 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Firefly Studios’ Stronghold 4 launches on December 7 on Steam, and a new public demo is available to play today. Built on an entirely new engine, it focuses on castle customization, siegecraft, and cinematic storytelling 25 years after the series began, and it has already passed half a million wishlists. After selling more than 500,000 copies in Early Access, SULFUR launches its 1.0 version on Steam on October 28 alongside its console debut on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, Switch, and Switch 2. Perfect Random’s single-player FPS roguelike features customizable weapons with hundreds of oils and attachments, along with cooking, loot, and extraction. Watch the trailer.
Team17 revealed The Escapists 3, a 3D prison sandbox that brings back the series’ formula with more prisons to explore, more weapons to loot and craft, and more ridiculous ways to escape. It’s coming to PC and consoles in 2027. Watch the trailer.
Croteam and Devolver Digital showed the first gameplay from The Talos Principle 3, the final game in the first-person puzzle series, which was announced in May and is coming in 2027 to PlayStation 5 and PC. Watch the trailer.
From the developers of Guilty as Sock!, TOO DEEP TO QUIT is a co-op survival adventure for up to four players, and its first demo is available now on Steam. Players head into a cursed jungle full of deadly traps, hungry creatures, and dwindling supplies in search of treasure, scavenging and improvising to make it out alive. Watch the trailer.

Solo developer Harvester Games, known for The Cat Lady and Downfall, and publisher 11 bit studios set a March 10, 2027, release date for psychological horror game Trainwatch on PC via Steam. Players take on the role of a new gatekeeper at a fogbound railway crossing, where a simple one-month job managing train schedules unravels into occult grounds and unsettling neighbors, and playtest signups are open now. Betadwarf, the developer of Forced and Minion Masters, shadow-dropped a demo for Vaultbreakers on Steam today. The top-down extraction RPG supports PvE and PvPvE, with players gathering allies, growing their Haven, and heading out on expeditions to break into their first Vault, and it’s co-published by Square Enix Collective. Team Instant Defeat and publisher 11 bit studios revealed Volatiles, a top-down action roguelike where every run starts with a single tile and players expand the battlefield as they fight off alien hordes. The studio describes it as Vampire Survivors with active combat fused with Dorfromantik, and it’s available to wishlist on Steam now. Watch the trailer.
Flyway Games’ hand-painted 3D action-adventure platformer Waltz and Jam launches on December 3 on PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and PC via Steam, with a new free demo available now on Steam. Waltz and his shape-shifting puppy Jam travel through seven storybook worlds and battle bosses based on the Seven Deadly Sins on the road to Uptown. Watch the trailer.

Kraken Express confirmed that Ashlands, the first major content update for Windrose, arrives this winter with a new biome and a new boss. The co-op pirate survival game, which sold over one million copies in six days after entering Early Access in April, is available on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Humble. Watch the trailer.
Co-op action RPG Wyldheart released its first demo on Steam today, featuring a standalone one-shot adventure for up to four players with drop-in, drop-out co-op. Developer Wayfinder Studios is a 12-person team in Sweden founded by the former creative director of Star Wars Battlefront and joined by the studio and technical directors behind Battlefield and The Finals, and Curve Games is publishing.
