Dave the Diver crossed 10 million sales in August, Mintrocket announced today, a figure that counts every platform from the October 2022 Early Access launch on Steam through the Switch 2 version and the mobile soft launch in China. The last number we had was six million as of November, when the game arrived on XBOX, so roughly four million copies moved in the nine months since, with the Chinese mobile release contributing one million of those on its own.
In the Jungle is pulling its weight as well. The expansion that launched June 18 has passed one million units, and Mintrocket is pointing to a 91 on OpenCritic alongside the sales. It’s the largest story expansion the game has had, swapping the Blue Hole for a freshwater lake and running about 10 hours, and it followed a long run of free and paid collaborations that pulled in Godzilla, Like a Dragon, and Dredge, among others.
The next step is the global mobile launch, which is still set for September 17 on Android and iOS. Beyond that, studio head and game director Jaeho Hwang says Mintrocket plans to keep expanding the franchise, starting with Bancho the Chef, the cooking-focused prequel revealed at June’s State of Play. I said back in December that Dave the Diver is one of the most unique games I’ve played in the past few years, down to pouring the tea, and 10 million people apparently agree. Dave the Diver is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, plus Mac.
