A month after Insomniac Games filled its San Diego Comic-Con panel with story details, PlayStation has moved on to hardware. Today’s reveal covers a Marvel’s Wolverine console bundle, two DualSense wireless controllers, and a set of console covers, all arriving September 15 alongside the game itself.
The centerpiece is the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle, which pairs a yellow Digital Edition console with a matching DualSense wireless controller and a download code for the game. The design pulls from Insomniac’s Battle Reborn suit and claws, with exposed claw marks cut through the covers so you can see the hardware underneath. The controller carries the same slashes. Scottish comic artist Jock, who contributed to the game’s key art, worked with PlayStation on the design and noted that he still draws all his artwork traditionally, making the pairing with hardware a new one for him. Marcus Smith of Insomniac Games said Jock’s illustrations are grounded and raw in a way that suits the character.
Anyone who already owns a PlayStation 5 has options here too, since the Battle Yellow console covers are available for both the slim model and the PlayStation 5 Pro. The PlayStation 5 covers include versions for consoles with and without a disc drive. There’s also a second design exclusive to the Pro, the Adamantium Limited Edition, which trades the yellow for a metallic finish inspired by the metal bonded to Logan’s skeleton, and a matching Adamantium DualSense sold on its own. Worth noting that the bundle only comes as a Digital Edition, so there’s no disc drive or PlayStation 5 Pro version of the console itself.
Preorders open on August 19 at 7:00 AM Pacific (10:00 AM Eastern) in the U.S., and at 10:00 AM local time in the U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The bundle runs $649.99 and the standalone Battle Yellow DualSense is $84.99, with both sold globally. Console covers are $74.99 each and the Adamantium controller is $84.99, though those two designs are limited to direct.playstation.com in the regions above, with limited quantities at select retailers everywhere else. It’s the same approach PlayStation took with the 007 First Light limited edition DualSense back in April.
Everything ships September 15 in limited quantities, with free launch day delivery on eligible preorders placed through PlayStation Direct. Marvel’s Wolverine arrives the same day exclusively on PlayStation 5, from the studio behind the Marvel’s Spider-Man games, and the September 15 date has been locked in since February.
