Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is out now on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC, marking the first time Capcom’s action RPG has been available on Switch 2. The $49.99 package bundles the base game with the new Dark Arisen Expansion, while existing owners can purchase the expansion separately as DLC for $29.99 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Capcom locked in the October 9 release date at the June Capcom Spotlight, and it made our list of the top games to play in October 2026.
The expansion sends the Arisen to Norgan, a long-abandoned northern region where they team up with Eir to uncover the secrets of the undying Fallen Dragon. Along the way, players appraise forgotten relics to unlock new weapons and abilities, while 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges designed by the Pathfinder reward rare equipment that once belonged to past Arisen. The Character Creator also gets new hairstyles and tattoos, which players have been able to try out early in the updated Dragon’s Dogma 2: Character Creation & Storage tool.
Launching alongside the expansion is Title Update 4.0, which adds a new Hard Mode as well as official support for Enhanced PSSR on PlayStation 5 Pro. PC players also get FSR 3 Frame Generation and DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, and the update includes other quality of life improvements. It follows two free updates for the base game, starting with the June 9 update that added the reusable Eternal Ferrystone for easier fast travel. The September 1 update then brought frame rate improvements, extra save slots, and more assignable weapon skills.
A new wave of Official Pawns based on the latest Capcom Collectibles episode is also available today, bringing Toy Leon, Knockoff Ryu, and Real Rudy to Rift Stones across the game. Capcom released a launch trailer for Dark Arisen along with a separate welcome video presented by Ron Perlman, and the full Title Update 4.0 details are available on the official Dragon’s Dogma 2 website.
