The first two months of 2026 have already been pretty great, with Xbox and Switch 2 players finally getting their hands on Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, while games like Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, Nioh 3, High on Life 2, and Mario Tennis Fever offer something for everyone. We also finally saw the release of Mewgenics, which has fueled many people’s obsession of late, with the tactical roguelite’s cat breeding winning over the hearts of many. February’s end sees the release of Resident Evil Requiem, which looks to be a fantastic entry in the storied franchise.

March, however, is packed with games. If nothing in January and February has appealed to you, there’s definitely something in March to mark down on your calendar. It’s a pretty big variety of games, from a cozy Pokémon spinoff to Bungie’s new extraction shooter, from Slay the Spire 2 to Pearl Abyss’s Crimson Desert. This is one of the longest lists we’ve compiled for a month of releases in a while, so buckle up. There are a lot of games to cover.

World of Warcraft: Midnight

The next expansion in what is arguably the most successful, longest-running MMORPG in history is arriving. World of Warcraft: Midnight is the next chapter in The Worldsoul Saga, but many players are going to be most excited because Midnight finally brings housing to Azeroth. While I haven’t played World of Warcraft in years, it does look like Blizzard really nailed what housing should be in an MMORPG. It’s just a real shame it’s taken this long for it to happen. The expansion will take players back to the elven kingdom of Quel’Thalas, as Xal’atath’s invasion of Azeroth begins and the Voidstorm threatens to cover the world in darkness.

World of Warcraft: Midnight releases on March 2, 2026 for PC.

Scott Pilgrim EX

Scott Pilgrim EX | Image: Tribute Games

We’ve been huge fans of Tribute Games ever since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, and while we haven’t had a chance to check out Marvel Cosmic Invasion yet, we’re pretty sure it’s a good one. We’re also confident the same can be said about Tribute’s next title, Scott Pilgrim EX, especially since a demo is available for you to check out ahead of time. Fans of the Scott Pilgrim franchise will surely want to pick this one up, as it features seven playable characters and sends everyone on a brand-new adventure with a story from series creator Bryan Lee O’Malley.

Scott Pilgrim EX releases on March 3, 2026 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.

Marathon

Marathon | Image: Bungie

Bungie definitely did the right thing by delaying Marathon after its lukewarm response following its reveal and alpha playtest. Now, it benefits from the popularity of ARC Raiders, and instead of possibly being the next Concord (that honor went to Highguard), it has a chance of being a wild success. The game is currently hosting a server slam, and on Steam, it has already peaked at over 140,000 concurrent players. The extraction shooter genre is about to get a bit more crowded, and it’s looking more and more likely that Bungie has another hit on its hands.

Marathon releases on March 5, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Slay the Spire 2 (Early Access)

Slay the Spire 2 | Image: Mega Crit

Slay the Spire 2 was originally on our most anticipated games of 2025 list, but the roguelike deckbuilder was delayed until 2026. The original introduced me to the world of roguelikes and roguelites, and it further increased my love for deckbuilders. At the time, the core gameplay loop was really fresh, so it’ll be interesting to see what the sequel does to keep things interesting. One thing’s for sure, we’re extremely excited about the game’s four-player co-op support. We played a ton of Across the Obelisk and HELLCARD, so we can’t wait to jump into Slay the Spire 2 as a group.

Slay the Spire 2 (Early Access) releases on March 5, 2026 for PC.

Pokémon Pokopia

I was already excited for Pokémon Pokopia when the game first debuted, landing on our most anticipated games of 2026 list. Recently, Nintendo Treehouse: Live shared more details about the game, which is making these last few days of waiting a real pain. If you somehow haven’t heard of it yet, it’s a cozy Pokémon game from the same team behind Dragon Quest Builders 2. While at first glance you’d think it’s more like Animal Crossing since it’s a Switch 2 exclusive, it’s actually more similar to Dragon Quest Builders 2 and even looks to have some elements from Viva Piñata on the Xbox 360. I’m so ready to sink hundreds of hours with my favorite Pokémon into building the ultimate world for them.

Pokémon Pokopia releases on March 5, 2026 for Switch 2.

Ghost of Yōtei – Legends

Typically, we don’t include DLC on these lists. But Ghost of Tsushima’s Legends are so fun that I felt compelled to include Ghost of Yōtei – Legends as a top game to play in March. While I did say in my Ghost of Yōtei review that the game was way too similar to Ghost of Tsushima for my liking, I did enjoy the changes that were made to the combat system, and I’m excited to see how it translates to the multiplayer Legends experience. We haven’t seen too much from Sucker Punch on it, but what we have seen is enough for us to be there as soon as it goes live.

Ghost of Yōtei – Legends releases on March 10, 2026 for PlayStation 5.

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando

This game wasn’t much on our radar, but considering how great Saber Interactive’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 was, we’re looking forward to spending some time in this four-player co-op horde shooter. These games are never terribly deep and are often somewhat mindless, but that’s what makes them a ton of fun. If the gunplay feels good and the gameplay loop has some progression, this might be a worthy spiritual successor to World War Z.

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando releases on March 12, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Solasta II (Early Access)

Solasta II | Image: Tactical Adventures

The world needs more proper turn-based tactical RPGs, so I’m glad that Solasta is getting a sequel. Building off the original, Solasta II is based on the SRD 5.2 ruleset as players embark on a journey to explore the lands of Neokos. Once again, players will create and guide their party of four adventurers, engaging in gameplay that’s based on the world’s most popular TTRPG. Solasta II also has a star-studded cast, including Devora Wilde, Ben Starr, Ellen Thomas, and Amelia Tyler.

Solasta II (Early Access) releases on March 12, 2026 for PC.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection

I’ve always been interested in the Monster Hunter Stories series, given how much I enjoy the Monster Hunter games. Somehow, though, I’ve never found the time to squeeze them in, no matter how much I want to. Unfortunately, March is a very crowded month, but everything that we’ve seen from Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection looks great. If it turns out to be a great game, it might push me into playing all three of them in a row sometime in the near future.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection releases on March 13, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin | Image: Netmarble

Originally slated to launch in January, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin delayed its release at the last minute and is now ready to debut in March. It’s essentially a Genshin Impact clone set in The Seven Deadly Sins universe, and while Netmarble doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to monetization, its games tend to be pretty fun and entertaining. We’ll give this one a fair shot, even though we’re still enjoying Arknights: Endfield. It’ll be a gacha game, and it’ll likely be one that’s pretty greedy, but maybe Netmarble got the memo that there are ways to make money while not feasting on your player base.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin releases on March 16, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC, before it heads to Android and iOS on March 23, 2026.

Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert | Image: Pearl Abyss

As Pearl Abyss shares more and more details about Crimson Desert, the game looks more and more impressive. While the main character looks pretty generic, the world looks captivating, and combat seems solid. This is one of those games that feels like the developer is trying to tick every single box in modern gaming, but if it manages to do all of those things well, it could have a real hit on its hands. I’m typically not a huge fan of these massive open-world action-adventure games, and I never even got captivated by The Witcher 3, but Crimson Desert has my interest because I’m curious to see how all the systems work together… if they even do.

Crimson Desert releases on March 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (PC)

Last year’s Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was one of my bigger surprises, not because the game was better or worse than I thought it would be, but because the majority of the adventure was so un-Kojima-like. I know many people believed that the first Death Stranding was really over the top, with its lengthy cutscenes and somewhat confusing plot, but I think that’s what made the game special. I found that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach took a lot fewer risks, with a safer story to tell, while giving players so much freedom that nothing in the game felt like a puzzle or a challenge. Still, it’s a grand adventure, the kind that only someone like Hideo Kojima can deliver, and one worth experiencing.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (PC) releases on March 19, 2026 for PC.

Life is Strange: Reunion

I’m one of many who absolutely loved the original Life is Strange title. I was captivated by Max and Chloe’s story and really enjoyed the overall writing, despite some cringey dialogue here and there. I was actually really excited for Life is Strange: Double Exposure, but ultimately had to skip it because it launched during a crowded period, and it sounded like fans found it disappointing. I believed it was the final nail in the coffin for the Life is Strange franchise, so I was really surprised when Life is Strange: Reunion debuted, despite the rumors. If I can find the time and get in the mood for a story-driven adventure, I’ll probably play Life is Strange: Double Exposure and Life is Strange: Reunion back to back so I can make my own judgment on whether Max and Chloe’s story deserved to continue.

Life is Strange: Reunion releases on March 26, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park

Honestly, I don’t even know if this DLC is worth mentioning, considering Super Mario Bros. Wonder originally launched in 2023. But when you have a game title as long as Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, you’re inclined to mention it just because of how ridiculous it is. The real reason why it’s on our list, though, is that this appears to be the Mario game to line up with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’s release on April 1. So if you somehow missed out on Super Mario Bros. Wonder when it first launched, I highly recommend it. It’s been a while since I completed a 2D platformer, but this one made me feel like a kid again.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park releases on March 26, 2026 for Switch 2.
