Less than two weeks before its anticipated release, Netmarble has delayed The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin to March 2026. The team pointed to all the feedback it received from its November Closed Beta Test, saying that although the test period was short, it received feedback that was far more extensive and in-depth than the development team anticipated. Along with all the positive feedback, the community provided plenty of suggestions on how to improve the game. As a result, the game is getting delayed to address some of those areas, which includes controls, the combat system, and overall UI/UX.
The official news post goes further in depth as to how the team is addressing those key areas for improvement. The general idea, though, is that the combat system is getting broad, system-level improvements to enhance gameplay feel and overall completeness. This includes changes to the combined attack system, burst system, and dodge system, as well as improving character control and action responsiveness. Netmarble is also introducing an automatic movement feature that takes players to main quest objectives and adding another feature to reduce gameplay fatigue. For example, there will be improved navigation for resource gathering and a way for players to recover HP at campfires.
Although it is a gacha game and one from Netmarble, we’re looking forward to checking out The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin when it releases in March. We’re fans of the anime and have enjoyed other mobile games based on the series. Honestly, I’m not surprised by the delay. I had mentioned in the past that it was bold of Netmarble to release The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin so close to Arknights: Endfield, which launches January 22. At least now gacha gamers won’t have to decide which one to focus on. They’ll at least get to enjoy a couple of months of uninterrupted Arknights: Endfield gameplay.
