Nintendo has announced its latest financial results, confirming the Switch 2 has sold 17.37 million units as of December 31, 2025, while the original Switch is now at 155.37 million units sold. That means the Switch 2 has outsold the Wii U’s lifetime total of 13.56 million units in less than seven months. Software sales for the Switch 2 are at 37.93 million units, while the original Switch has passed 1.5 billion units (1,500.16 million).
Leading the way on the Nintendo Switch 2 is Mario Kart World at 14.03 million, though that includes bundle units. Donkey Kong Bananza is at 4.25 million, Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition at 3.89 million (including bundles), and Kirby Air Riders is at a surprising 1.76 million.
Unfortunately, Nintendo didn’t have any surprise announcements for first-party Switch 2 titles planned for release. Mario Tennis Fever is coming February 12, while Pokémon Pokopia is set for March 5. The extremely long-named Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park comes March 26, 2026, and that’s the last of the confirmed release dates. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is still scheduled for spring 2026 and will likely release sometime around The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which Yoshi stars in, while Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is still slated for later this year. Splatoon Raiders is included in the presentation, but its release date is still TBD.
