Capcom has really become experts at hyping up their games and keeping people interested leading up to their launch. The latest example is Resident Evil Requiem, which has been steadily releasing information since it debuted at Summer Game Fest 2025 last June. The latest news came from a special Resident Evil Showcase, which shared a lot of new gameplay footage of Leon Kennedy. For those who missed the news, Leon Kennedy is making a return in Resident Evil Requiem, sharing the stage with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft as dual protagonists.
Both protagonists will be playable in first- or third-person perspectives, depending on your preference. Grace will focus more on a tense, survival horror playstyle with limited resources and carrying capacity. Leon’s gameplay will lean heavily into combat, both hand-to-hand and with weapons, mainly firearms. Today’s showcase, though, did show him picking up a chainsaw and having a bit of fun with it. Unsurprisingly, since it is 2026, Resident Evil Requiem is adding a parrying mechanic for Leon.
The showcase also gave some teasers as to the game’s story, hinting that Elpis is the keyword that connects everything, from the death of Grace’s mother, Alyssa Ashcroft, to Grace’s own past, and how the story is connected to Leon. Capcom also confirmed Resident Evil Requiem will have multiple difficulties to choose from.
There was also a short focus on collaborations with real-world brands, including Porsche and Hamilton. The Porsche collaboration we already knew about, when Capcom first announced Leon, but now there’s confirmation that a one-of-a-kind Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT was created with complex 3D printing technology, specifically for the game. The Hamilton collaboration delivers two watch models that replicate the ones worn by Leon and Grace in-game. The Khaki Field Auto Chrono for Leon and the Pan Europ Automatic for Grace will be available the same day the game launches, February 27, and will be limited to 2,000 units worldwide.
The team also announced 1/6-scale Grace and Leon figures, which will be available this fall, and an upcoming orchestral concert series across Japan, North America, and Europe for later this year.
