Three weeks after its digital launch, Control Resonant has sold one million copies worldwide, and the physical PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X editions are now available at retailers as of today, October 15. Remedy Entertainment confirmed the sales milestone in a short post on social media thanking players for playing, sharing, and being a part of the community. The discs were originally set for the September 24 launch before Remedy pushed them back three weeks in August, so anyone who held out for a boxed copy can finally pick one up.

There are two physical editions to choose from on both PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X, starting with the Standard Edition at $59.99, which includes just the base game. The SteelBook Edition runs $69.99 and adds a collectible SteelBook case, three fine art prints, and a key art poster. Those who have been waiting on a Mac version will get one for Steam and the App Store later this year, and Remedy is publishing the game itself, with Annapurna co-financing and co-producing it.

Control Resonant was one of our most anticipated games of 2026, and in my review, I called it a strong and unusual game that continues Remedy’s streak. Its warped version of Manhattan was a joy to explore, even if I spent long stretches of my nearly 40 hours lost in it. I also said that if you’re tired of formulaic AAA sequels, this is the one you need to play, though it isn’t for everyone given its tedious stretches and deliberately confusing layout.

For those who want more Control merchandise, iam8bit is taking preorders on a Control Resonant collection through October 26 at iam8bit.com, with shipping expected in the first quarter of 2027. The collection includes Corrupted Metro apparel, a Billboard Bumper Stickers Pack, an Atlantis Café Espresso Cup Set, an FBC Magnet Set, and three Federal Bureau of Control propaganda posters that are 1:1 recreations of their in-game counterparts, printed at 16.5 by 23.3 inches. The original Control passed six million lifetime sales earlier this year, and the studio has already added New Game++ to the sequel in Update 1.40, with Photo Mode estimated for November.

“For those that waited until today to pick up Control Resonant as a physical release and to those that have already ventured into our warped version of Manhattan, we want to thank you,” said Mikael Kasurinen, creative director of Control Resonant. “We couldn’t ask for better fans, and seeing all of the reactions to this game has been a career highlight. Thank you for joining us on this journey and if today is your very first time playing, you’re in for an epic adventure that was crafted throughout years of passion.”

Thank you for the support ❤️ For playing, sharing, and being a part of the community.#CONTROLResonant
