Remedy Entertainment posted a profitable first quarter for 2026 ahead of an aggressive marketing ramp for Control Resonant later this year. Q1 revenue came in at €13.1 million (a 1.9 percent dip from the same period last year), but EBITDA improved to €2.9 million as the studio prepares to spend heavily on its sequel’s marketing campaign. The company confirmed Control Resonant remains in full production, the Max Payne 1&2 remake with Rockstar Games is also in full production, and a new unannounced project is in proof of concept.
Control Resonant is the headline game and the focus of most of Remedy’s attention. The studio confirmed that the game’s marketing campaign kicked into gear in Q1, with a new gameplay trailer debuting at PlayStation’s State of Play in February and another trailer running with longtime partner NVIDIA in March. Press and content creators have also previewed exclusive content with positive responses, and the first episode of a Control Resonant developer diary went live for the community.
Remedy is expanding into China and other Asian markets through local partnerships, with Control Resonant launching in eight audio languages, including Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese, making it the most localized Remedy game to date. After the quarter ended, the studio also made an exclusive appearance at Gamescom Latam in São Paulo, Brazil to connect with the local community. New CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon, who took over March 1, said in his first quarterly comments that he’s playing the game regularly and feels “the gameplay and overall feel are coming together.”

Outside of Resonant, Remedy’s existing catalog held up well. Control crossed the six million lifetime sales mark, with strong Q1 sales driven by promotions and added visibility from the upcoming sequel. The studio also recently brought Control Ultimate Edition to iPhone and iPad ahead of Resonant’s launch, giving more players a chance to experience the original before jumping into Dylan Faden’s story. Alan Wake 2 continued to earn royalties through Q1, with Alan Wake 2 and Alan Wake Remastered now also available on Amazon’s Luna streaming service.
FBC: Firebreak received its final Major Update, Open House, in March, officially moving the game to maintenance mode. Remedy confirmed the cooperative shooter will stay live and playable, with infrastructure costs described as minimal for the studio going forward. A new Friend’s Pass feature was also added to support the existing player base, and the game remains available through PlayStation Plus and Game Pass alongside paid copies.
The Max Payne 1&2 remake, developed in partnership with Rockstar Games, remains in full production with no new specifics shared. Remedy also has a new unannounced project in proof of concept, but didn’t expand on what that might be. Looking ahead, Remedy reaffirmed its 2026 outlook of full-year revenue and EBITDA growth from 2025, with marketing and related spend on Control Resonant set to ramp up sharply in the lead-up to the game’s launch. The studio’s longer-term targets remain doubling 2024 revenue by 2027 and a 30 percent EBITDA margin by the same year.
