Graveyard Keeper 2 has locked in a September 22 release date, revealed with a new trailer during today’s Future Games Show at gamescom 2026. The sequel from developer Lazy Bear Games and publisher tinyBuild launches on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG, and preorders are open now.
Billed as “the most accurately inaccurate medieval graveyard simulator,” the sequel keeps the series’ comfortably morbid loop intact. You lay corpses to rest in your personal graveyard just long enough for them to rise again as undead minions, gathering hearts, bones, brains, and skin along the way to build the perfect zombie army and automate the dirty work. Between burials, there’s food to farm, livestock to tend, and a zombie apocalypse to hold off, with your undead army eventually marching into battle to protect the realm while you quietly profit from the chaos.
All the graveyard keeping, grotesque characters, and twisted humor from the original return, alongside crafting, ability upgrades, storylines, fishing, trading, and character customization. The sequel’s big addition is a massive town overrun by the undead, where helping the townsfolk rebuild earns revenue and a convenient city map handles travel between its varied locations. Harvesting flora and human remains feeds into machinery that automates production, expanding the graveyard into a proper business.
Graveyard Keeper 2 is priced at $24.99, and Steam is currently running a 20 percent pre-purchase discount that brings it to $19.99 through launch day. Preordering also unlocks bonus items, including an exclusive outfit and your very own sauna outside your house, which is not a sentence I expected to type today. The sequel first surfaced at the Triple-i Initiative showcase back in April with a 2026 window, and as I said when Lazy Bear’s Bandle Tale made my most anticipated list in 2024, the original Graveyard Keeper is very excellent, which makes a sequel less than a month away welcome news around here.
