Ratatan’s console versions are now up for digital preorder on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and Switch 2, and anyone who grabs it before the October 15 launch saves 10 percent. That date is the one the rhythm roguelike from Patapon creator Hiroyuki Kotani settled on in June after slipping out of July, when developer Ratata Arts and publisher Game Source Entertainment said they needed more time for multiplayer stability and bug fixes based on Steam Early Access feedback. Here is how the two editions break down with the discount applied:

  • Standard Edition ($31.49, down from $34.99): the game, plus the Spirit Sword Banbansord legendary weapon as an early purchase bonus
  • Deluxe Edition ($35.99, down from $39.99): the game and the Spirit Sword Banbansord, plus the Special Weapon & Accessory Pack, the Cobun Pack, and the Supplies Set

Steam Early Access players don’t need to do anything to get the early purchase bonus, as it will be added to the game automatically at launch, while the Deluxe Edition DLC will be sold separately on Steam starting on release day. As for what 1.0 actually brings, the update adds Chapters 3 and 4 to finish the story, introducing the final world and the boss waiting at the end of the journey, and every Dark Ratatan that has shown up so far will assemble for the finale. The team has also completed the live orchestral recording session it promised fans, and those tracks are going into the game for 1.0, with the full patch notes covering new features and quality-of-life improvements scheduled to be published the day before launch.

Ratatan will also be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026 from September 17 to 21 at the Game Source Entertainment booth, number 02-N02 in Hall 2. The booth has demo stations with novelties handed out after playing, and anyone who completes specific conditions on the show floor gets a randomized Limited Edition Ratatan ID Card from a set of multiple designs.
