As if September wasn’t already packed enough with new releases, Nintendo just added another major one to the pile. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, a brand-new entry in the series, is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, 2026.

Set in the capital of the Dagdan Empire, the game centers on the Heroic Games, a tournament where powerful fighters compete and the winner is granted a single wish. You’ll follow four new heroes into it: Cai, a boy set on freeing his imprisoned father; Dietrich, a swordsman always chasing a stronger opponent; Theodora, a queen working to realize her homeland’s long-held dream; and Leda, a musician driven by revenge.

Between matches in the Heroic Games, how you spend your free time is largely up to you. You can explore the capital city of Dagsion, pick up new techniques at the training grounds, strengthen bonds to recruit allies, or head beyond the city walls to gain extra experience.

Nintendo showed all of this off at the latest Nintendo Direct, alongside a special edition called the Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Dagdan Collection. It bundles a steel game case, character art cards, a map of Dagda, and an artbook. Both the standard game and the Dagdan Collection launch September 17, with preorders opening later today on the Nintendo eShop.
