With Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launching exclusively on Switch 2 in just over six weeks, Nintendo is giving the game its own dedicated Direct. The presentation airs tomorrow, August 4, at 7:00 AM Pacific (10:00 AM Eastern) on Nintendo’s YouTube channel, and it will run roughly 20 minutes, all of it focused on new information about the game.
For those who haven’t been keeping up with Fortune’s Weave, the game centers on the Heroic Games, a tournament held in the capital of the Dagdan Empire where the winner is granted a single wish. Four new heroes enter the competition, and between matches, you’re free to explore the capital city of Dagsion, pick up new techniques at the training grounds, and strengthen bonds to recruit allies. The game launches September 17, 2026, alongside a special edition called the Dagdan Collection that bundles a steel game case, character art cards, a map of Dagda, and an artbook.
As for what I’m hoping to see out of the presentation, the story is still the big question mark for me. When the game was revealed last September, the trailer ended with an adult Sothis, hinting that Fortune’s Weave takes place in the same universe as Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and I noted at the time that her appearance left more questions than answers. We still don’t know if this is a prequel or a sequel. Whether the Direct clears that up remains to be seen, but 20 minutes is plenty of time to at least show where the story is headed.
