After a packed stretch of June showcases that ran from State of Play through Summer Game Fest and Sunday’s XBOX Games Showcase, Nintendo is the one getting the last word. Nintendo Direct 6.9.2026 is set for Tuesday, June 9 at 7:00 AM Pacific (10:00 AM Eastern), and there will be a Nintendo Treehouse: Live session afterwards.
The Direct itself runs roughly 50 minutes and sticks to upcoming Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 games. Treehouse: Live follows immediately after for another 95 minutes or so, digging into hands-on gameplay of select titles from the presentation. Combined, that will be close to two and a half hours of Nintendo content, back to back, which is pretty consistent with past years.
As for what’s actually in the lineup, Nintendo is keeping quiet, but here are my guesses. A final trailer for Star Fox feels likely now that the Switch 2 release is around the corner, and I’d expect a deeper look at Splatoon Raiders, which is set for a July release. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, this year’s entry in the series, is the other obvious candidate, especially since we still don’t have a confirmed release date. FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods is another one I’d put money on, though, now that Elden Ring Tarnished Edition has a Switch 2 release date. Nintendo has a clear reason to give the studio’s Switch 2 exclusive some real screen time.
Personally, I’m holding out for a Xenoblade Chronicles announcement of some kind. Even a Switch 2 edition of an existing entry would do it for me, and having reviewed Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, I’d happily take the excuse to jump back into the series. There are also rumors swirling about a The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake.
