AdHoc Studio is finally bringing Dispatch to the one platform it hasn’t reached yet, with the superhero workplace comedy landing on XBOX on July 29. The release covers XBOX Series X|S, XBOX on PC including supported gaming handhelds, and XBOX Cloud Gaming, and it arrives as a full XBOX Play Anywhere title, so a single purchase works across console, PC, and handhelds with your progress carrying over. Dispatch is priced at $29.99 on XBOX, with a $39.99 Deluxe Edition that adds four digital comics and a digital artbook running over 100 pages. The XBOX version was first confirmed at the XBOX Partner Preview back in March, but it didn’t have a date until now.

Dispatch originally launched episodically on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 22, 2025, wrapping up its eight-episode run on November 12 before heading to Switch and Switch 2 on January 28. The game comes from a team made up largely of former Telltale Games developers behind titles like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, and it blends story-driven choice gameplay with management sim-style dispatch shifts where you send a roster of misfit heroes out on calls. It has sold over two million copies along the way and led this year’s BAFTA Games Awards alongside Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

I’ve made no secret of how much I love this game. In my review, I called Dispatch not just one of the best games I played in 2025 but possibly one of the best games I’ve ever played, thanks to writing, dialogue, and voice acting that make it nearly impossible not to get attached to its cast of characters. My only real complaint after the credits rolled was that it felt too short, since all eight episodes took me just under nine hours and left me wanting more. When the Switch version was announced, I also mentioned that I’d played several episodes on my ROG XBOX Ally X and loved it, so official XBOX handheld support through Play Anywhere feels like a natural fit for this game.

As I noted in my review, though, Dispatch isn’t heavy on actual gameplay mechanics, so set your expectations accordingly: this is a narrative experience about characters, relationships, and choices first and foremost.
