Crimson Desert continues to be one of 2026’s biggest success stories. Pearl Abyss announced that the open-world action-adventure has now sold through over five million copies worldwide, another major milestone for a studio that was primarily known for an MMO before this. The game hit two million copies within its first 24 hours and reached three million just days later, so adding another two million in the weeks since shows that word of mouth has kept the momentum going.

It’s a well-deserved achievement for Pearl Abyss, which spent years developing Crimson Desert as its first single-player title. For a new IP launching at $69.99, five million copies in under a month is an impressive feat, especially considering it’s competing in a pretty stacked release window. Crimson Desert is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
