October 13 is when Arjun joins Street Fighter 6 as the second of its four Year 4 fighters, and Capcom marked the date with a gameplay trailer that puts his Yoga Breathing techniques on display. He arrives on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC, following Yasmine’s debut in August and ahead of Bosch and Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, the latter due in early 2027. Separately, limited time New Challengers artwork and effects inspired by the Street Fighter movie are live in the game starting today.

Arjun’s backstory reads like a crime drama. He was a police officer in India until his partner was murdered and he was framed for it, and he now lives on the run trying to uncover what actually happened. Capcom describes him as a stalwart powerhouse who trades speed for heavy strikes, with the hook being recoverable damage: several of his attacks chip away at an opponent’s health even when blocked. Arm of Justice is a winding punch with strength variants and an optional follow-up, Cruel Shoulder is a lunging tackle, and Breathing Ring creates a ring of air he can fire forward at different angles with Breathing Shockwave. Divine Pillar raises a column of earth at a distance set by button strength, and if he connects Cruel Shoulder with an active pillar, Justice Beyond lets him grab it and swing it in any direction.

The rest of the kit further leans into that breath theme. Ghastly Interrogation is a command throw that deals only recoverable damage unless the opponent has already taken some, in which case it converts to normal damage. Indomitable Defense hyper oxygenates his muscles to turn incoming melee strikes into counterattacks, and Moral Breakdown throws both fists forward while that stance is active. His Super Arts run from Howling Destruction at Level 1 through Instant Oblivion at Level 2, which launches foes far enough away to set up a Divine Pillar, to Yaksha’s Order at Level 3, which disrupts the opponent’s inner ear before the cinematic finisher.

Arjun unlocks on October 13 for Year 4 Character Pass and Year 4 Ultimate Pass owners. Outfit 1 shows him on the run, while Outfit 2 is described as an idealized version of Arjun who has left his quest for justice behind, unlockable by maxing his Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or with Fighter Coins. Back in my Street Fighter 6 review, I said I expected a lot of Character Passes in the coming years as Capcom kept supporting the game, and three years later Arjun makes 14 DLC fighters and counting.
