Capcom has given Street Fighter 6’s next fighter her first proper gameplay showing, releasing a trailer for Yasmine ahead of her August 3, 2026 arrival. She’s a high schooler from the Philippines who fights with a crescent-shaped Karambit knife, built around the Filipino martial art of Eskrima and a barrage of high-speed, acrobatic knifework.
Yasmine’s kit leans on quick, combo-extending knife strikes that flow into follow-ups and sweeps, and several of those moves drop her into Bayani Mode, a powered-up state much of her kit feeds into. Her three Super Arts escalate from a launch-and-slam at Level 1, to a Level 2 buff that keeps her in Bayani Mode while she chains specials, up to a Level 3 that spins an opponent around and pulverizes them. It’s a fast, knife-heavy style.
Yasmine’s story gives the moveset some weight, since she learned to fight from her grandfather and older brother back home before setting the Karambit aside after her brother suddenly vanished. Online videos of a certain French supermodel eventually pushed her to pick the knife back up and go looking for him.
Players who own the Year 4 Character Pass or Year 4 Ultimate Pass will be able to unlock Yasmine the day she launches. She comes with two outfits to start, with Outfit 1 putting her in Eskrima combat gear and Outfit 2 dressing her in a school uniform, the latter unlockable by maxing out her Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or by spending Fighter Coins.
Yasmine is the first fighter out of the gate for Year 4, which Capcom revealed at Summer Game Fest alongside Arjun, Bosch, and Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII remake series. Her release also brings Battle Balance adjustments for the entire roster, so Capcom is pointing players to the Battle Change List before maintenance kicks in. She’ll be playable across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.
When I reviewed Street Fighter 6, I said I’d be surprised to see Street Fighter 7 arrive any time soon, because this was a game Capcom could keep building on for years. A fourth full year of DLC fighters, led by an entirely new character like Yasmine, is that prediction holding up.
