With the Street Fighter movie roughly six weeks out from its October 16 theatrical release, a new trailer has arrived that shows a lot more than we’ve seen so far. The film is set in 1993 and follows estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), who are pulled back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. Behind the tournament sits a deadly conspiracy that forces the two to face off against each other and the demons of their past, and per the official tagline, “if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!”
When Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment dropped the first full trailer back in April, I said it looked absolutely ridiculous and silly, and that this might be exactly what a new-age Street Fighter adaptation needs, and July’s Blanka trailer did nothing to change that. This one is more generous with story and footage than either. Kitao Sakurai directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with T. J. Fixman, and the cast includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, 50 Cent as Balrog, Roman Reigns as Akuma, and Orville Peck as Vega. Street Fighter hits theaters October 16, and the movie is also getting an exhibition at Capcom’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 booth later this month.
