Xenoblade Chronicles X will be released in the west on December 4, 2015, Nintendo announced today during its E3 Nintendo Direct event. The spiritual successor to Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii from 2010, the giant, open-world JRPG was released in Japan earlier this year on April 29. Developed my Monolith Soft, Xenoblade Chronicles X‘s story takes place after Earth is destroyed and a handful of survivors are trying to live in a new beautiful yet hostile environment. The company has detailed numerous features in the game including the ability to ride and control giant weaponized mechs while exploring a massive world filled with monsters ranging from small bugs to giant dinosaurs.
The combat system will be familiar to those that played Xenoblade Chronicles, with the return of the Arts system and the ability to customize their Arts palette, assigning skills to a hot bar for easy access.
