Resident Evil Requiem continues to tear through sales milestones. Capcom announced today that the survival horror title has surpassed six million units sold worldwide, making it the fastest game in the series to reach that number. When I covered the five million milestone just two weeks ago, the game had only been out for five days. Adding another million in the weeks since shows this one has serious legs, though it’s not entirely surprising given that Resident Evil Requiem peaked at 344,214 concurrent players on Steam, more than double the Resident Evil 4 remake’s peak (168,191).
Beyond the sales news, Capcom confirmed that additional game content is on the way for Resident Evil Requiem, along with ongoing support. The announcement didn’t include specifics on what that content will look like or when it’s arriving, but it’s still exciting news for anyone who has already finished both Grace and Leon’s campaigns.
Capcom also reminded fans that the Resident Evil series turns 30 on March 22, 2026. To celebrate, the company is planning a collaboration between Universal Studios Japan and Resident Evil Requiem later this year, along with orchestral concerts in Japan, the U.S., and Europe. With cumulative franchise sales now exceeding 183 million units (as of December 31, 2025), it’s been quite the run for Resident Evil since the original launched in 1996.
