Just over two weeks after Pragmata cleared the one million sales mark in two days, the milestone has doubled. Capcom announced today that worldwide sales of its all-new sci-fi action-adventure IP have surpassed two million units in just 16 days since its April 17 launch. For a brand-new IP without an established fanbase, that’s a strong sign Pragmata is finding an audience well past the initial launch surge.
That extra million in roughly two weeks suggests the early word of mouth is doing some lifting. Capcom credits its pre-launch demo, Pragmata Sketchbook, with helping build awareness before release, and positive reviews have largely contributed to the game’s success. The character dynamic between protagonist Hugh Williams and his android companion Diana has been the emotional anchor critics keep highlighting.
Pragmata was one of our most anticipated games of 2026, and after a six-year development cycle that landed in indefinite-delay limbo at one point, two million units in 16 days is the kind of payoff Capcom needed for a brand-new IP. Pragmata is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. Now we’re just hoping a follow-up doesn’t take another six years to materialize.
