Capcom has been on a roll, and now the company has another success to add to the pile. Capcom announced today that Pragmata, its all-new sci-fi action-adventure IP, has surpassed one million units sold worldwide in just two days. The game launched on April 17 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC, with the Switch 2 version launching April 24 in Japan and other parts of Asia.
That’s a strong debut for a completely new IP with no existing fanbase or franchise recognition to lean on. Capcom credits a few factors for the early momentum, including releasing a playable demo ahead of launch and adding Switch 2 support at an early stage as part of the company’s multi-platform strategy. The game has also been well received, currently sitting at “Overwhelmingly Positive” on Steam.
Pragmata has had a long road to release. The game first debuted in 2020, was originally set for 2022, got pushed to 2023, and then hit an indefinite delay before finally resurfacing with a 2026 commitment last summer. For a title that spent years in limbo, reaching one million units in two days is a strong validation of the team behind it. Capcom specifically credited the mostly younger group of developers who built the game.
