PlayStation Plus is heading into the home stretch of spring with a lineup that pulls from a few different corners of the open-world and action RPG spaces. The full PlayStation Plus Game Catalog May 2026 lineup will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers starting May 19, with PlayStation Plus Premium members also getting access to a returning arcade shooter classic.

Headlining this month’s lineup is Star Wars Outlaws on PlayStation 5, the “first” open world Star Wars game. Players take on the role of Kay Vess, a scoundrel trying to pull off the score of a lifetime while navigating the galaxy’s various crime syndicates. In my Star Wars Outlaws review, I called it a stealthy slog with bullet sponge enemies and gunplay that felt off, especially compared to The Division. The world is gorgeous and feels authentically Star Wars, but the moment-to-moment gameplay was a letdown. Ubisoft has since rolled out several updates, including major combat and stealth overhauls, so the version landing on PlayStation Plus is likely a noticeably better experience than what I reviewed at launch. Worth checking out if you’ve been curious.

The other major draw this month is Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 4, which gets a PlayStation Plus re-release after previously being on the service. Rockstar’s 2018 epic follows Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde Gang as the Wild West era draws to a close, with federal agents and bounty hunters closing in on the last of the outlaw gangs. It’s considered one of the greatest games ever made, and with Grand Theft Auto VI delayed again to November 19, 2026, there’s no better time to revisit or experience the Old West one more time. The game also includes Red Dead Online for those who want to keep playing after rolling credits.

Bramble: The Mountain King | Image: Dimfrost Studio

Next on the list is Bramble: The Mountain King on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, an unsettling adventure inspired by Nordic folklore. Players take on the role of Olle, a young boy on a mission to rescue his sister after she’s kidnapped by a troll. It’s an atmospheric experience where careful exploration and knowing when to hide are just as important as confronting the creatures lurking in the forests and caves.

Sticking with the folklore-inspired theme is The Thaumaturge on PlayStation 5. Set in early 20th-century Warsaw, players control Wiktor Szulski, a thaumaturge who can summon mystical demons called salutors to manipulate foes and shape outcomes in turn-based tactical combat. With its unique setting and emphasis on moral consequences, The Thaumaturge is worth a look if you’re into narrative-heavy RPGs with a strong sense of place.

For something more action-oriented, there’s Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn on PlayStation 5 from A44 Games, the team behind Ashen. This soulslike pits players against gods and their armies of the dead, combining traditional melee combat with gunpowder weaponry. The city of Dawn is on the brink, and it’s up to the Coalition army to push back. Flintlock didn’t quite catch on when it launched in 2024, but it’s a solid pick for soulslike fans looking for something a little more approachable than the FromSoftware standard.

Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged | Image: Revolution Software

Adventure game fans will want to check out Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. This is an enhanced version of the multi-award-winning classic point-and-click adventure, following American George Stobbart and journalist Nico Collard through a globe-spanning conspiracy involving the Knights Templar. It’s a great way to experience a genre staple for anyone who missed it the first time around.

The final title for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers is Enotria: The Last Song on PlayStation 5. Another soulslike, Enotria is set in a sun-lit land inspired by Italian nature and folklore, where players take on the role of the Mask of Change. The game’s standout mechanic is its mask system, which lets players assume the role of fallen foes to unlock new playstyles. Players can swap between up to three custom loadouts at any time, giving it a bit more flexibility than the typical soulslike build commitment.

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will also get access to Time Crisis on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The arcade shooter that originally hit the PlayStation in 1997 returns with the original console-exclusive special stages and new gyro aiming support. It’s a nostalgic pick that fans of light gun shooters will enjoy, even without the original peripheral.
