PlayStation Plus is ending the year with a bang as the Game Catalog lineup for December 2025 is packed with an assortment of great games from various genres. All the titles will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members starting on December 16, except for Skate Story, which joined the catalog on December 8, when it launched.

Skate Story is one of our top games to play in December 2025, featuring one of the most interesting premises we’ve seen all year. Players take on the role of a demon in the Underworld that is made of glass and pain. The Devil has given you a skateboard with a mission to skate to the Moon and swallow it. Only then will you be free. With a funky art style to match the game’s tone, Skate Story has you doing tricks as you travel through The Emptylands on your journey.

Those who want to spend this holiday season with an open-world experience will want to check out Assassin’s Creed Mirage on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Set in 9th-century Baghdad, Assassin’s Creed Mirage tells the story of Basim, a young street thief who sets off on an adventure seeking answers. The game recently got a free story update on November 18 called Valley of Memory, which offers an additional six hours of content.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty | Image: Team Ninja, Koei Tecmo Games

Next on the list is Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 from Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo Games. Taking place in 184 AD during the Later Han Dynasty in China, this action RPG is a dark fantasy set during the Three Kingdoms period. Players will take on deadly creatures and enemy soldiers using swordplay based on Chinese martial arts. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty was originally released in 2023, and it’s important to note that it comes from the team behind Nioh, since it can look similar to many of the other action RPG titles coming out of China.

Another action RPG that’s part of this month’s lineup is Granblue Fantasy: Relink on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. We actually spent a lot of time as a group with this game earlier this year and had tons of fun. The game supports up to four-player co-op, where each person can bring their own hero with unique weapons, skills, and combat styles while taking advantage of team-based actions, including Link Attacks and Chain Bursts. Of course, the game can also be played solo with AI companions, but it’s most fun with friends.

For something entirely different, there’s Planet Coaster 2 on PlayStation 5. This sim game lets you construct the theme park of your dreams, featuring epic water rides, rollercoasters, and all sorts of other attractions. Along with keeping your park guests entertained, you’ll have to manage your budget to make sure you’re staying profitable. While I haven’t had the chance to play the sequel, I did spend around 30 hours in the original Planet Coaster and had plenty of fun. As someone who grew up playing Bullfrog’s Theme Park, I think it’s great to see the genre is still alive and well.

Cat Quest III | Image: The Gentlebros

For a more casual experience, there’s Cat Quest III on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It’s a 2.5D open-world action RPG set in a fantastical, pirate-themed world aptly called the Purribean. It’s the third entry in the series, and the first time players can sail the seas and battle in their own ship. Best of all, it’s playable in either solo or local co-op if you’re looking for something light and fun this holiday break.

Last year’s LEGO Horizon Adventures joins this month’s lineup on PlayStation 5, bringing a LEGO take to Aloy’s story. Like many other LEGO games, this one can be enjoyed in couch co-op, with Aloy’s friends Varl, Teersa, and Erend joining in on the adventure. It’s a lighthearted take on a rather serious story, and while it may not have been the runaway success PlayStation was hoping for, I think it’s a good enough time for anyone who enjoys the Horizon franchise.

The final two titles come from the Paw Patrol universe, with Paw Patrol: Grand Prix and Paw Patrol World, both on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Paw Patrol: Grand Prix is a racing game that supports up to four players at once, letting players drive around iconic locations from Paw Patrol, including Adventure Bay, Jake’s Snowboarding Resort, and The Jungle. Meanwhile, Paw Patrol World is a 3D action-adventure game where players can play as their favorite pups, driving their vehicles and saving the day with fun rescues and missions.

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will also get access to Soulcalibur III on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Originally released on PlayStation 2, this version of the game has been enhanced with up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters.
