While we’re not a huge fan of posting rumors as news, this particular one is of great interest to most gamers. A forum member over at NeoGAF believes that the Sony PlayStation 4 release date is October 21, 2013 based on a product release schedule posted at their work. As with all rumors, take it with a grain of salt, though the poster has been verified as a person in the position to have such information.
Though he/she wouldn’t specify where they work, he/she did state that it was for a “very large retailer” and that the internal product release schedule had an unnamed Sony console launching on that date. According to the source, launch dates are only ever included when they’re confirmed from the product company.
If October 21 does turn out to be the PlayStation 4 release date, it’s a tad earlier than the Xbox One’s tentative November release. But at this point, it wouldn’t be a huge jump if Sony decided to release its PS4 in October, just to beat Microsoft to the punch.
Updated: Sony has announced that the PlayStation 4 will be released on November 15, 2013.
