The PS4 3.50 update will begin rolling out tomorrow, April 6, and will add the ability to Remote Play your console on a Windows PC or Mac. The update, codenamed Musashi, will include numerous new social features as well including Appear Offline, Friend Online Notification, User Scheduled Event and Play Together.
But the biggest feature that many fans are excited about is expanding Remote Play’s capabilities to work with Windows PC and Mac. The feature will require Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or later, OS X 10.10 or OS X 10.11. Gamers will be able to select from 360p, 540p and 720p resolutions and 30fps or 60fps, while a DualShock 4 can be used once it is connected to the PC or Mac via a USB cable.

As for the new social features, Appear Offline adds a new option called “Online Status,” allowing you to choose to appear offline. You will also be able to designate to appear offline when you login or at any time from your profile, or by holding down the PS Button on a DualShock 4 to bring up the Quick Menu.
Friend Online Notification allows you to be notified when your friends come online, while User Scheduled Event gives you the ability to schedule gameplay sessions with your friends. Simply choose the day, time, game and send off the invitation to your friends. Once the event starts, users who registered will automatically be added to the party so they can play right away.
Lastly, Play Together is a feature that allows all members of a Party to see what each person is playing so that they can easily join a friend’s game or start a new game together.
