Sony PlayStation 4 Release Date: November 15, 2013

The PlayStation 4 release date has been set for November 15, 2013 in North America and November 29, 2013 in Europe, Sony has announced today at its Gamescom 2013 press conference. Surprisingly, Microsoft earlier today didn’t disclose a release date for the Xbox One – all we know is that it’s still sometime in November. It appears that Sony might still beat Microsoft to the punch with the PlayStation 4 hitting store shelves before the Xbox One. Or perhaps Microsoft was just waiting for Sony to announce the PlayStation 4 release date so that it could beat it to the punch. The next-generation console war continues.

At Sony’s press conference today, the company revealed an overwhelming number of indie exclusives that are heading to both the PlayStation 4 and the Vita. Sony also announced that it has over one-million preorders for its next-gen system worldwide.
