Following a successful debut in Japan, Nintendo Live will be heading to Seattle, Washington this September, Nintendo has announced. The in-person experience is designed to celebrate the Nintendo Switch, a console that really is due for a replacement. This is Nintendo’s attempt at doing public events once again, something it had to stop following the COVID-19 pandemic starting in 2020. Prior to that, Nintendo used to host many in-person experiences.

Those who plan on going to Nintendo Live 2023 in Seattle will get to experience a wide variety of Nintendo game-inspired activities in a large-scale themed area. The experience is designed with both families and fans in mind, with people of all ages welcome to attend. Live entertainment along with Nintendo Switch gameplay will be joined by gaming tournaments and photo opportunities with iconic characters such as Mario and Luigi.

The exact date for Nintendo Live 2023 or the location have not been announced, but Nintendo did say in a press release that more details will be revealed in the future. The announcement comes at an opportune time, as The Super Mario Bros. movie is currently setting records worldwide.

“Fans of all ages can currently experience the unique games, characters and worlds of Nintendo on Nintendo Switch, but we want to expand that scope with a new experience,” said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser. “With Nintendo Live 2023, we’re giving attendees a chance to celebrate together with family, friends and the broader Nintendo community in the spirit of fun and creating long-lasting memories.”
