After slipping out of 2025 and into this year to give FromSoftware more time for performance work, Elden Ring Tarnished Edition finally has a firm Switch 2 date, with Bandai Namco confirming a worldwide release on August 28, 2026. This all-in-one version is exclusive to Nintendo’s new hardware, built to be the complete package for newcomers and returning players alike.
The Switch 2 edition bundles the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and a batch of content exclusive to this version: four extra armor sets, two new character classes, and three customization options for Torrent the Spectral Steed. It runs $79.99, with physical preorders opening June 5 and digital preorders following on June 11.
Existing owners on other platforms aren’t being left out of the new toys, either. The same day, those four armor sets, two classes, and Torrent skins arrive separately as the Tarnished Pack, a small digital purchase for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, and PC. It’s priced at 550 yen in Japan, so expect something similarly low once U.S. pricing lands (probably $4.99).
Preordering or buying the Switch 2 edition early throws in two in-game gestures, The Ring and Ring of Miquella, while physical preorders go further with an exclusive case housing an origin and map poster, all while supplies last. Elden Ring has shipped more than 30 million copies since its 2022 debut and Game of the Year win, and a portable version on Switch 2 has been highly anticipated, so hopefully FromSoftware has worked out some of its performance issues.
