Mighty No. 9 will be released on September 15 in the U.S. before arriving worldwide on September 18, Comcept has announced. The game will arrive in the U.S. early thanks to a partnership with publisher Deep Silver and will get a boxed retail release for the PlayStation 4, Wii U and Xbox One. It will also be available as a digital download on those consoles as well as the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Linux, Mac and Windows PC. Comcept revealed that the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 2DS / 3DS versions of the game will arrive as a digital download at a later date.

The Mighty No. 9 release date was pushed from spring 2015 as a result of the publishing partnership with Deep Silver and will include several features that all backers will receive for free. Those features include:

Ray DLC, an all-new stage featuring an epic battle with Beck’s rival, Ray. When players complete it, it will unlock Ray as a playable character for the entire main game, adding unique skills and all-new gameplay mechanics. The extra content is included in all the retail versions of the game and will be provided for free to Kickstarter backers.

Japanese and French voice-over support has been recorded and will be added to all versions of the game

Deep Silver will also provide localized versions of Mighty No. 9 with subtitles in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Polish and Brazilian Portuguese languages.

Mighty No. 9 first arrived on Kickstarter as a spiritual successor to the Mega Man games and is led by the original Mega Man creator, Keiji Inafune. It will be a side-scrolling shooter much like previous Mega Man titles, and the game earned $3.8 million in pledges, making it one of the most successful Kickstarted games.

“This is a great opportunity for Comcept,” Inafune said. “The partnership enables us to deliver Mighty No. 9 to a wider audience while adding some great extra value to the game. We are confident that the extra content will be worth the wait.”
