The wearable Spartan helmet replica that 4A Games first detailed alongside its gamescom trailer headlines one of three Metro 2039 editions now available to preorder. The game launches on February 4, 2027, for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC, where it’s available through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and XBOX on PC, and that date has been locked in since September. All three editions include the full game, with the Standard and Deluxe Editions sold both physically and digitally, while the Collector’s Edition is physical only.

Every preorder, regardless of edition, comes with the Specialist Pack, which includes three blueprints that unlock three swappable backpack upgrades early. Blueprints are new to Metro 2039, and finding them through exploration lets players craft upgrades and attachments for their weapons and gear. The Equipment Specialist Pouch helps players craft advanced weapons and gear more quickly, while the Chemtech Specialist Pouch adds more gas mask filters and cleaner, more reliable equipment for radioactive areas. For marksmen, the Munitions Specialist Pouch makes rarer, more powerful ammo types easier to find and use. Only one of the three pouches can be equipped at a time, though.

The digital Deluxe Edition adds the Story Expansion DLC, which arrives after launch, along with a digital art book and a digital soundtrack. The physical Deluxe Edition includes all of that plus a game disc, an exclusive SteelBook, and a hardback art book. The Collector’s Edition comes with everything in the physical Deluxe Edition along with the wearable replica of The Stranger’s battle-scarred Spartan helmet, and 4A Games says more details on the Story Expansion DLC will be shared later. In the meantime, the free Metro Redux Next-Gen Update arrives on PC on October 22, followed by PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S on October 29.
