For those who weren’t aware, this past weekend was Evo 2024, arguably the most recognized fighting game competition in the world. This year, Punk was crowned the Street Fighter 6 champion, as the game had the most registrants at Evo for the second year in a row. While Capcom didn’t have any major announcements for this year’s competition, it debuted a first-look trailer for the next new fighter, Terry Bogard from SNK’s Fatal Fury series.

Capcom didn’t announce an official release date for Terry, but he will be arriving this fall and will be playable in all three modes—World Tour, Fighting Ground, and Battle Hub—on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Of course, you’ll have to own or purchase the Year 2 Character Pass or Year 2 Ultimate Pass to get access to Terry when he releases. He joins M. Bison, Mai, and Elena as the Year 2 characters.

Street Fighter 6 leading the way in Evo registrations doesn’t come as a surprise. In our Street Fighter 6 review, we praised the game for its accessibility, noting it had significantly lowered the barrier to entry without ruining the core gameplay experience.
