Halo: Campaign Evolved has a release date, with Halo Studios confirming during the XBOX Games Showcase that the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved arrives July 28, 2026. The studio first revealed the project last October as a remake of the original campaign, and today’s New Missions Trailer offered a first look at a new story arc called Operation: METEORITE. Premium Edition and Collector’s Edition owners get up to five days of early access beginning July 23.

Operation: METEORITE is a three-mission arc included with every edition, set a year before the events of the first game. It follows the Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson on a clandestine UNSC operation aboard a Covenant research vessel, a smash and grab that turns more complicated than expected. The arc adds new locations, new enemy variants like the Brute Berserker, more weapons from across the series, and a fight that eventually moves into space. Sci-fi author Troy Denning, who has written several Halo novels, helped develop the story.

The base game remains a faithful remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s original 10-mission campaign, now bundled with Operation: METEORITE across every edition. It supports cross-play and cross-progression on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC, and launches day one on XBOX Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Preorders are open now at XBOX, Steam, and PlayStation, with the Collector’s Edition available through Halo Waypoint.

Every preorder comes with the Foundry Armory Pack, which includes the Classic 2001 Mark V armor and Assault Rifle skins plus Gilded Onyx styles for both. The three editions break down as follows:

  • Standard Edition ($49.99): The full game, featuring the original 10-mission campaign and Operation: METEORITE.
  • Premium Edition ($69.99): Everything in Standard, plus up to five days of early access on July 23, the Alpha Halo Armory Pack (five Master Chief armor skins and six weapon skins), and a Digital Story & Art Collection. That collection bundles a new Troy Denning short story called Halo: Hungry Buzzards, an artbook, and a digital game manual modeled on the original 2001 release.
  • Collector’s Edition ($199.99): Everything in Premium, plus a 12-inch Dark Horse Master Chief statue, a light-up LED Cortana chip, a Steelbook, three concept art prints, a physical reimagined game manual, and a game disc for XBOX Series X and PlayStation 5 (the Steam version includes a code only).

Halo: Campaign Evolved launches globally on July 28, 2026 at 8:00 AM Pacific (11:00 AM Eastern), with early access starting July 23 at the same time.
