The sixth instalment of the GT Academy will kick off on April 21, 2014 on Gran Turismo 6 and virtual drivers will have the chance to become a Nissan NISMO racing driver in real life. Over its six seasons starting in 2008, the GT Academy has garnered nearly four-million entries with previous GT Academy champions now pursuing a professional racing career in GT3 and Le Mans 24 Hours. This year, champions will be selected from competitions in Europe, Germany, USA and a new International GT Academy comprising Australia, India, Middle East (UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Kuwait), Mexico and Thailand. This year’s GT Academy Europe will consist of France, Italy, UK, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Russia, Sweden, Poland and Czech Republic.
Once contestants have completed the rigorous three-month Driver Development Program, the five global GT Academy 2014 champions will qualify for the prize of driving a Nissan vehicle in the gruelling Dubai 24 Hours race in January 2015.
