Cygames has announced on social media that its action RPG, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, has sold over one million copies worldwide. It took 11 days to achieve the milestone, showing just how much the Granblue Fantasy franchise has grown. The franchise began with a mobile game and an anime adaptation, followed by the release of Granblue Fantasy Versus, a fighting game, in February 2020. Its sequel, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, was released in 2023.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink marks a departure from Versus and Versus: Rising, being an action role-playing game. Originally, PlatinumGames was set to develop the game before Cygames Osaka took over. It features up to four-player co-op and offers fast-paced, real-time combat.
