Square Enix revealed Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.5, titled Trail to the Heavens, during today’s 91st Letter from the Producer LIVE broadcast. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida outlined the full release schedule for the 7.5x series, and, as usual, there’s a lot to cover. The patch launches April 28 and brings with it the usual lineup of content, but a couple of standout additions are worth mentioning.

The biggest announcement for many players will be Beastmaster, the game’s next limited job. Limited jobs in Final Fantasy XIV operate outside of the standard job system, with Blue Mage being the current one. The other major highlight is a new Ultimate raid, which will be the challenge raiders have been waiting for. Patch 7.5 also wraps up the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid series with its third and final installment, Windurst: The Third Walk, which has been a love letter to Final Fantasy XI throughout its run.

The usual suspects are also here, with new Main Scenario Quests, a new dungeon called The Clyteum, a new trial against Enuo in both Normal and Extreme modes, and Shinryu’s Domain as the latest Unreal trial at level 100. Occult Crescent is getting another update with a new zone, new monsters, Critical Encounters, and multiple new Phantom Jobs. There’s also a new planet for Cosmic Exploration called Auxsia, for crafters and gatherers, and an ocean fishing route heading toward Thavnair.

As for quality-of-life updates, housing is getting increased furnishing limits for both interior and exterior, along with new interior designs. The Armoire is receiving a significant expansion in storage capacity, and there are updates to the dye system. PvP Series 11 kicks off with a new Crystalline Conflict arena, Archeia Harmonia, and adjustments to existing PvP actions. More Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures are on the way as well, along with allied society capstone quests, custom deliveries, Phantom Weapon updates, and Gold Saucer additions.

I consider Final Fantasy XIV one of the best games I’ve ever played, although the Dawntrail expansion has been a slow burn compared to the incredible highs of Shadowbringers and Endwalker. The formula hasn’t changed much, and I’ve been hoping the team at Creative Studio III would shake things up before the next expansion. That said, Beastmaster and the Final Fantasy XI raid finale will get me to jump back in, but mainly to get caught up before the next expansion. With Fan Festival 2026 on the horizon, we should learn about 8.0 soon.

In other Final Fantasy XIV news, The Primals, the game’s official band led by Masayoshi Soken, will be performing at Download Festival at Donington Park in the UK on June 12, 2026.
