Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.4 is around the corner, launching on December 16, which means it’s time to get a new trailer. We already knew about much of the content coming in the patch, but Final Fantasy fans are going to be stoked to see Doomtrain from Final Fantasy VI with a great rendition of the theme, as expected. Speaking of themes, Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine has collaborated with Beartooth to create a new track for the Arcadion Raid Series, titled Everything Burns. It’ll be part of Tom Morello’s new album and released as a standalone single on December 17.

Today’s Letter from the Producer Live broadcast shared more details about Patch 7.4, which is titled Into the Mist. We got a look at some of the new crafted glamours and the new tier of fights in the Arcadion Raid Series, including some shenanigans involving surfers. As usual, we’ll get new Main Scenario Quests in the patch, while the new Dungeon will be called Mistwake. The new Trial is Hell on Rails with both Normal and Extreme modes, and the new raid tier is titled The Arcadion: Heavyweight. Savage difficulty for the tier will launch on January 6, 2026, so raiders can comfortably relax during the holiday break this time around. This patch’s Unreal Trial is Tsukuyomi’s Pain Unreal.

With the patch coming around the holiday season, we plan on jumping back in and getting caught up on some of the content we’ve missed. While we still love Final Fantasy XIV, the Dawntrail reset after the amazing conclusion with Endwalker has been off to a slow start. We’re really hoping Creative Studio III decides to take some risks and break out of the formula a bit for the next expansion.
