The nominations for the 22nd BAFTA Games Awards have been revealed, with a total of 42 games across 17 categories. Leading the pack is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with a massive 12 nominations, which shouldn’t surprise anyone at this point after all the awards the game has already won. Sandfall Interactive’s debut title was our favorite game of 2025, and it looks like it’ll be adding more to its trophy case. Dispatch follows with nine nominations, and Ghost of Yōtei picked up eight. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach earned seven, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle received six, and ARC Raiders landed five. Interestingly, despite its seven nominations, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach didn’t make the cut for Best Game, which instead went to ARC Raiders, Blue Prince, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Dispatch, Ghost of Yōtei, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Nine out of the 12 performance category nominees are receiving their first BAFTA nomination, including Ben Starr, Charlie Cox, Jennifer English, and Kirsty Rider for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Aaron Paul and Jeffrey Wright picked up nominations for Dispatch, while Erika Ishii was nominated for Ghost of Yōtei. It’s always nice to see the voice acting talent in this industry get the attention it deserves, and these performances were genuinely some of the best of the year.

The rest of the nominees include a healthy mix of titles, many of which we’ve covered extensively. Ball x Pit, Donkey Kong Bananza, Dune: Awakening, Elden Ring Nightreign, Hades II, Mario Kart World, Blue Prince, and South of Midnight all received nominations, along with bigger titles like Battlefield 6, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The Alters also earned a nomination in the Game Beyond Entertainment category.

What stands out about this year’s nominations is how many debut studios are represented. Seventeen studios are nominated for the first time, including Sandfall Interactive for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Embark Studios for ARC Raiders, and GSC Game World for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. It’s a good sign for the industry that so many first-time studios are getting recognition.

The 22nd BAFTA Games Awards will take place on April 17 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and will be available to watch on BAFTA’s YouTube channel.
