The Life Is Strange franchise has been a rollercoaster. It started off very strong, with its debut title winning over gamers who weren’t even into story-driven games. The sequel’s entirely new story was also well received, and the trend continued with Life Is Strange: True Colors. I enjoyed all three of those games, with the original still being my favorite. So when I heard Life Is Strange: Double Exposure was bringing back Max Caulfield, I was pretty excited. After the initial wave of reviews hit, though, I decided to skip the game because of my busy review schedule, but I do plan on playing it so I can judge it for myself.

Sounds like I’m going to have to move that up in my schedule, as the official Life Is Strange YouTube channel has confirmed a reveal for the next game on January 20 at 10:00 AM Pacific (1:00 PM Eastern). There are plenty of rumors floating around about what the game entails, and you can search for them if you want, since we try to avoid reporting on rumors. All the official channel is saying, though, is that we should separate the real from the rumor, however you want to interpret that.

If you were disappointed by Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, I highly recommend that you check out Dispatch from AdHoc Studios. It’s a new take on the choose-your-own-adventure genre, and it’s fantastic. It’s one of my favorite games of 2025.
