In February, NIS America confirmed that Ys X: Nordics would launch in the West sometime this fall, and now we have a release date: October 25, 2024. The latest entry in the long-running Ys series, which dates back to 1987, was actually released in Japan in September 2023. It stars a younger Adol Christin as he encounters the Normans, a seafaring people. Quickly, he is drawn into the conflict between the Normans, the residents of Obelia Gulf, and undying monsters called the Griegr.

In this adventure, Adol teams up with Karja Balta, a Norman warrior and pirate princess, to explore the waters of Obelia Gulf aboard the Sandras. The journey will take the party through vast stretches of ocean, using maritime maps to navigate and engaging in naval battles with enemy ships. Other features of the game include the Cross Action system, where players can swap between controlling Adol and Karja independently or together. They will have to harness the power of Mana to overcome challenges and puzzles throughout the game.

Ys X: Nordics will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC. Watch the release date announcement trailer below:
