Xenoblade Chronicles will be heading exclusively to the New 3DS, which means it won’t be compatible with the current 2DS, 3DS and 3DS XL handheld consoles. Taking advantage of the upgraded processor on the New 3DS, Xenoblade Chronicles will be available in Japan next year and there’s currently no word yet if it’ll be heading to other territories.

Given the game’s popularity in North America despite its controversial release and the inclusion of Shulk in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS, it is likely that Xenoblade Chronicles for the New 3DS will also be heading to Europe and North America at a later date especially if the company wants to help kick off sales for its confusing new-generation 3DS.
